More finished objects

No pictures.

Sorry. I haven't gotten to them yet. But I will. Soon.

I finished the Colinette socks for the Little Boy on Friday. He hasn't worn them yet, so I'm going to have to watch and remind him they're not to be "saved" for good, like the Kool-Aid socks.

And I started a new sock yesterday, from a random test-toe that's been sitting on my nightstand for a month. It's Koigu, in a colorway I found on the DeStash page a while back. And I finished the first one today. Cast off, wove in ends, the whole bit. I have to go get the other cake out of the yarn drawer tonight, to make sure I have a sock in my bag tomorrow! I hate to be without a sock!

Cleveland was fantastic! What a lovely, vibrant city! Cross country skiing park, great buildings, nightlife (even in snow!), Lake Erie... Loved it.

One problem, though. Every time I drove, I got lost. Getting lost is not something I do often. In fact, it's very rare. I have some inner compass that keeps things in perspective for me, and I seem to always have a sense of where I am and where I need to go. It's been extremely useful, in many, many places. But apparently it doesn't work in Cleveland. I had to be talked in and out of the city on my cell phone. The only other time I've had so much direction-dyslexia was in Austria, ages ago, when my inner compass failed, and we got lost in a foreign city, not able to speak the language enough to ask for directions!

So aside from needing public transport and a map tatooed on my hand, I loved Cleveland.

Yet, it's good to be home.

I went to Cleveland about three years ago and liked it a lot. Unfortunately, a snowstorm blew in and we could barely SEE any of it. The socks look great.
